Tedboy proudly presents to you our second integrated cafe banking branch at Standard Chartered Bank, PJ New Town. We recently opened in mid of August this year, with a lot of hard work and back and forth meetings to make sure that all is smooth during the soft launch. We are so glad that everything went well on the opening day.
A big round of applause to our Tedboy team and our partner Standard Chartered Bank for making this happen. Without each and everyone of you, this would not have been possible.
In case you didn't know, we opened our first cafe banking branch at Standard Chartered Malaysia‘s head office, Equatorial Plaza in 2019. It was their first time to combine a cafe with banking services to allow customers experience banking in a new and refreshing way.
Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia breaks the traditional mould to create a lifestyle space in its premise to bring people from all walks of life together. Besides, the bank aims to help local businesses to establish and expand their presence. This is why Tedboy, a homegrown cafe, is here as part of the bank’s journey since then.
Why is Tedboy a homegrown cafe?
Tedboy is a Malaysian brand that was first established in 2012 by two lovebirds, Edward Tan and Patrina Tang. They named their first bakery & cafe concept restaurant as “Tedboy” when they had their first kid, Ted. All breads and pastries are made from scratch daily at our humble kitchen. Most importantly, our breads, pastries, cookies, and cakes contain no preservatives, colourings, and additives.
Why is Tedboy and Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia collaborating?
Few years ago, Standard Chartered Bank and Tedboy operated in the same office building but they did not directly ‘join hands’. Everyone loved our food including employees from the bank. After some time, both of us moved out from the building due to renovations.
This is where the story begins.
Standard Chartered Malaysia made a decision to open their headquarter office at Equatorial Plaza, Kuala Lumpur. This time, they wanted something different, to adopt a cafe banking concept in their bank premise as overseas branches like Singapore were implementing this idea. Therefore, they collaborated with us to savour our food all over again!

We have hot food, bread and pastries to satisfy your tummy. All baked goods are freshly baked daily from our central kitchen. If you need a quick lunch, grab our hot food and go!
